Mars is a queer African American artist. An advocate for feminism, queer activism, and black liberation movements.

She spent her early childhood in Centreville, IL, frequenting the building hand-built by her grandparents, The Village Theater.

The Village Theater was a monument, home to everyone who’d ever graced it’s stage, performer and stage hand alike. The strong influence of acts and talents seen on that stage, as well as passionate management backstage, was inspiration for an ever growing interest in musicianship, musical theater, and performance in Mars.
